This medication is used for patients who need to take both amlodipine (esamlodipine) and atorvastatin together. Amlodipine treats hypertension and coronary artery disease, and angina due to stable and variant angina, reducing the risk of angina and revascularization in patients recently diagnosed with coronary artery disease. Atorvastatin is used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, decreasing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, revascularization, and stable angina, and is effective in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia. It is also effective in reducing cardiovascular risk in diabetic patients and treating familial hypercholesterolemia. The combination of both medications helps in controlling blood pressure and blood lipids to improve cardiovascular health.
Amlodipine (esamlodipine): Administer 5(2.5) mg orally once daily, with the maximum dose adjusted to 10(5) mg daily based on patient response. Atorvastatin: Start with 10 mg once daily, with the possibility to increase to 20 mg or 40 mg daily as needed. The dosage can range from 10 mg to 80 mg once daily, and it can be taken at any time of day with or without food.
