This medication may put strain on the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol per day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. During treatment with this medication, skin rashes or blisters and severe allergic reactions may occur, and if these symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. The ingredients in this medication may trigger seizures, so special caution is advised for individuals with a history of seizures or at risk for seizures, especially when combined with certain antidepressants or other narcotic analgesics, as this may increase the risk of seizures. Serious allergic reactions can occur rarely while using this medication, so if symptoms such as difficulty breathing or hives appear, contact a medical facility immediately. For patients with acute bronchial asthma, this medication may make breathing difficult; it should only be used in environments where medical personnel can observe, and it is preferable to use other non-narcotic analgesics when possible. Patients with head injuries or elevated intracranial pressure may experience aggravated symptoms due to respiratory depression and increased brain pressure when taking this medication, and should use it with caution. This medication can lead to psychological and physical dependence, so careful monitoring for dependence should occur during prolonged use. The acetaminophen component can cause liver damage in case of overdose, so care should be taken not to exceed the maximum daily dose, and patients with poor liver function must consult a doctor before use. Especially in individuals with a genetic predisposition for rapid drug metabolism, the active ingredients of this medication may accumulate excessively in the bloodstream, posing a severe risk of respiratory depression; in such cases, dose adjustment or alternative medications may be necessary. It is generally advisable not to use this medication in children under the age of 12 and in adolescents under the age of 18 following certain surgeries. Patients with sleep apnea or at high risk for hypoxemia should continuously monitor for worsening symptoms during use and should reduce the dose or discontinue use if necessary. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Avoid exceeding the recommended dose or taking it with other acetaminophen products. Withdrawal symptoms may occur with sudden discontinuation, therefore the dosage should be gradually reduced according to a doctor's instructions. This medication can interact with various drugs, so if taking other medications, it is essential to inform a doctor or pharmacist, especially when used with MAO inhibitors, antidepressants, antibiotics, and central nervous system depressants. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and nursing mothers must consult with healthcare professionals before using this medication; nursing mothers should avoid taking it as it may pass to the baby through breast milk and could be harmful.
