Aptach Tablets (Triamcinolone Acetonide)

Adult dosage

Apply 0.025 mg of triamcinolone acetonide to the affected area (site of disease) once a day, 1 to 2 times, adhering the white side to the affected mucosa. Adjust as necessary based on age and symptoms.

This medicine should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity. Moreover, since it contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic disorders such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. This medication contains a pigment called Yellow No. 5, so care should be taken when used in patients allergic or sensitive to this ingredient. There is a possibility of developing an oral fungal infection called candidiasis, so if such symptoms appear, use should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. In principle, this medication should not be used if there is an infection in the mouth, but if it must be used, consideration should be given to treating with appropriate antibiotics or antifungals beforehand. Particularly, if the patient contracts chickenpox or measles while using this medication, serious problems may arise, so vaccination history and whether the vaccination has been received should be checked before administration. Patients without a history or those who have not been vaccinated should be carefully monitored to prevent infections, and if any suspicion of infection arises or occurs, immediate medical attention should be sought. Even vaccinated patients may still contract chickenpox or measles while using this medication, so caution should always be exercised. The elderly may have reduced physical functions, so this medication should be used cautiously while closely observing their condition. This medication is meant to adhere to the oral mucosa and should not be swallowed. When using, lightly moisten the fingertip with saliva, attach it to the pigmented side of the medication, and gently press it against the affected mucosa for 2 to 3 seconds to ensure contact with the white side. If the colored side of the medication is wet with saliva, it may not adhere well to the mucosa, so care should be taken. If the affected mucosa is excessively wet with saliva, the medication may not adhere, so it is advisable to lightly wipe it off with gauze or similar material before applying. When children or infants are using this medication, extra caution is needed as they may peel off the medication with their fingers.

Mild side effects

Candidiasis may occur. Possible oral infection.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a container that blocks light. Additionally, it is important to maintain a room temperature, between 1 degree and 30 degrees, while storing the medication. This will help to maintain the medication's effectiveness.
