Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to individuals who have had allergic reactions to this drug or similar classes of medications, nursing women, patients with severe liver dysfunction, patients with critical aortic stenosis, and those in a state of shock. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with severe hypotension, patients requiring dialysis due to renal failure, the elderly, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Various side effects may appear when taking this medication, so it requires attention. Common side effects include flushing, fatigue, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, abdominal pain, and nausea. Rarely, there may be occurrences of excessively low blood pressure, vasculitis, neurological abnormal symptoms, sexual dysfunction, gastrointestinal issues, blood anomalies, skin rashes, and allergic reactions. In severe cases, heart problems such as myocardial infarction or arrhythmias have been reported, so immediate consultation with a doctor is needed if severe symptoms occur. This medication may remain in the body longer in patients with liver dysfunction; thus, dosage adjustment and caution are required. Moreover, even after discontinuing the medication, the effect of gradually lowering blood pressure may continue. Therefore, when taking other antihypertensive medications, follow the physician's instructions. This medication may not be effective for unstable angina, which is an emergency situation. Although no specific effects have been reported while driving or operating machinery, one should be cautious due to possible dizziness or drowsiness. This medication can interact with various other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, it is crucial to inform your healthcare provider. In particular, it is advisable to avoid taking it with grapefruit juice, as it can excessively increase the medication's effects. Women who are pregnant or nursing should use this medication only when necessary and under the judgment of a physician, and it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding. For children, use is recommended only for those aged 6 years and above, as safety and efficacy have not been established for younger ages. Elderly patients can use the standard dose, but caution is required depending on their physical condition. In cases of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively, and heart rate may increase, so immediate emergency treatment is necessary, as blood dialysis is ineffective. In cases of overdose, gastric lavage or measures to reduce drug absorption may be helpful. This medication has not been reported to have carcinogenic or mutagenic potential even with prolonged use. If you have any questions regarding adverse reactions or precautions while administering, be sure to consult with a pharmacist or physician.
