Precautions

This medication may cause liver damage in individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. One of the main ingredients of this medication, acetaminophen, may very rarely cause serious skin reactions; therefore, if a rash or allergic symptoms appear after taking it, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Tramadol, included in this medication, may increase the risk of seizures if the recommended dosage is exceeded, and the risk can rise further when taken with certain antidepressants or narcotic analgesics. Though rare, serious allergic reactions that are life-threatening may occur while taking this medication; thus, sudden difficulty in breathing or skin reactions should be reported to medical personnel immediately. This medication may suppress breathing in patients with acute and severe bronchial asthma, so it should only be administered in a properly equipped environment. Concurrent use of this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or even coma, so it should be avoided unless directed by a physician. Patients with increased intracranial pressure or those with head injuries should exercise caution when taking this medication, as respiratory depression may worsen their condition. This medication may lead to dependence, similar to morphine, so long-term use should always keep in mind the potential for dependence and abuse. Patients with poor liver function or liver disease should consult healthcare professionals before using this medication to reduce the risk of liver damage. In particular, those who have a fast-acting genotype for the enzyme CYP2D6 must be careful, as the active ingredient of this medication may accumulate excessively, leading to severe respiratory depression. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years of age or adolescents under 18 years of age who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy, and use should be avoided in adolescents aged 12 to 18 years except in special cases. This medication can cause sleep apnea or hypoxia; thus, if these symptoms occur or worsen, consult medical professionals immediately to consider dose adjustment or discontinuation. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should monitor the possibility of developing hyponatremia while taking this medication. There are several instances where this medication should not be administered, so individuals with hypersensitivity, those addicted to central nervous system drugs, patients with severe respiratory depression, and those with severe liver, kidney, or heart dysfunction, as well as nursing mothers, should not take it. Abrupt cessation during treatment may cause withdrawal symptoms, so the dosage should be reduced gradually according to the physician's instructions. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness during driving or operating machinery, and caution should be exercised, particularly when taken with alcohol or other CNS depressants. In case of overdose, serious side effects such as respiratory depression, seizures, or liver damage may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment, and specialized detoxification treatment may be necessary. During the course of taking this medication, do not take other analgesics or medications containing acetaminophen, as interactions may increase the risk of side effects; inform healthcare personnel of all medications being taken.
