Topical treatment of comedonal, papular, and pustular acne
This medication is used for the topical treatment of various forms of acne, such as comedones, papules, and pustules occurring on the face in patients aged 12 years and older.
Clean the affected area and dry it, then apply a thin layer to the acne area once daily at bedtime, avoiding the eyes, lips, mucous membranes, and surrounding nose. If skin irritation occurs, reduce the application frequency (e.g., once every two days) or discontinue treatment. Once irritation subsides, the application frequency can be increased or treatment can be resumed. Clinical improvement may be seen after 4 to 8 weeks of treatment, with additional improvements possibly occurring after 3 months.
This medication is a topical application, and caution is required for use on sensitive skin that may be sun-exposed. Especially patients who have recently suffered from sunburn should avoid using this medication until fully healed. It should not be used by individuals allergic to this drug or its components, pregnant women or those who might become pregnant, and on damaged or inflamed skin. It is important for patients with sensitive skin or prone to irritation to consult a doctor before use. Temporary skin reactions such as dryness, irritation, redness, and itching may occur during use, which usually improves with reduced frequency or discontinuation. Initial treatment may cause severe skin irritation, but this often lessens with continued use. If severe allergic reactions or irritation occur, use should be stopped or the frequency reduced. During treatment, it is advisable to minimize exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet lamps, and when going outside, apply sunscreen and wear protective clothing. Temporarily stopping use on days of expected excessive sun exposure can help reduce skin irritation. Increasing the amount of this medication does not lead to faster or stronger effects and may instead exacerbate skin irritation. It is safer not to use it in combination with other peeling agents or irritating products, especially exfoliating products or those containing alcohol. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, treatment should be immediately discontinued. Nursing mothers should use it with caution and should avoid application to the breast area. The safety of this medication in children under 12 years has not been established, thus its use is not advisable. If this drug is overdosed or ingested, contact a medical facility immediately for appropriate action. This medication should be kept away from mucous areas like the eyes, mouth, and nose; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. After use, store in a place out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container to help maintain the drug's quality. Lastly, exposure to sunlight or artificial UV light may increase the risk of skin cancer, so it is important to minimize UV exposure.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture entry. The storage temperature should be maintained below 25 degrees, and it should never be frozen.
