Improvement and adjunctive treatment for type 2 diabetes (blood sugar control)
This medication is used to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be administered alone or in combination with diet and exercise as an adjunctive therapy. If the improvement in blood sugar is insufficient, it may be used in conjunction with other hypoglycemic agents such as sulfonylureas, metformin, or insulin. Additionally, nutritional counseling, weight loss, and regular exercise should be conducted, which are essential not only for initial treatment but also for maintaining the long-term efficacy of drug therapy. This medication is used to enhance blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
This medication is taken orally once daily regardless of meals. It can be initiated as a monotherapy at 15 mg once daily, and if the effect is insufficient, it can be increased up to 30 mg once daily. In combination therapy, 15 mg is also administered once daily. The maximum recommended dose should not exceed 30 mg once daily.
There is no experience in using it in minors under 18 years old, so administration is not recommended.
