Topical treatment for acne such as comedones and papules
This medication is used to treat acne in the forms of comedones, papules, and pustules that occur on the face and other areas in patients over 12 years old. It helps to improve acne symptoms when applied topically.
After thoroughly cleaning and drying the affected area, apply a thin layer to the acne-prone areas, avoiding the eyes, lips, mucous membranes, and surrounding nose, once daily before bedtime. If skin irritation occurs, reduce the frequency of application (e.g., every other day) or discontinue treatment. Once the irritation subsides, the frequency of application can be increased, or treatment can be resumed. Clinical improvements may be observed after 4 to 8 weeks of treatment, with further improvements possible after 3 months.
The skin must be completely healed before using this medication. Patients with sunburn should avoid using this medication until their skin has completely healed. This medication should not be used in certain patients or areas. For example, individuals allergic to this medication or its components, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and those with damaged or inflamed skin should not use it. Those sensitive to sunlight or frequently exposed to it should take care when using this medication. Caution is also warranted if there is a history of allergy to any ingredient in this medication. Using this medication may cause dry skin or symptoms such as irritation, burning sensation, and redness. These symptoms usually resolve upon discontinuing the treatment or reducing the frequency of use. During treatment, it is crucial to avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet rays, and if exposure is unavoidable, it is recommended to apply sunscreen and wear protective clothing. It is also advised not to use this medication on excessively sunny days. Increasing the amount used to enhance the effectiveness of this medication is not recommended, as it may rather increase skin irritation. If other topical treatments have been used recently, this medication should only be used after the skin has sufficiently healed. Once symptoms improve, it is preferable to discontinue the use of this medication and not use it continuously for an extended period. Avoid hair removal methods such as electrolysis, waxing, or chemical depilatories in the area where this medication is applied. This medication is for topical use only and should be applied with care to avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, nose, mucous membranes, or wounds. If contact occurs, it should be rinsed immediately with clean water. It is safest not to use this medication during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, use should be discontinued immediately. Women who are breastfeeding should not apply this medication to the breast area, and caution is needed as it is unclear whether this medication passes into breast milk. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been established. In cases of overdose or accidental ingestion of this medication, appropriate emergency measures such as gastric lavage should be taken. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and it should be avoided to transfer it to other containers. This medication is not recommended to be used with other retinoid medications, and it should also be avoided in conjunction with irritating cleansers or chemicals. Finally, it is important to minimize exposure to sunlight or artificial ultraviolet rays, as there may be an increased risk of skin cancer while using this medication.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture, and it is recommended to keep it at a cool temperature below 25 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a longer period.
