Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients who have had allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to chlorhexidine. It should not be used for the disinfection of surgical instruments and care must be taken to avoid direct contact with the brain, spinal cord, or eyes. If there is a perforation or damage to the eardrum, care should be taken to prevent this medicine from entering the auditory canal. It should also not be used on mucosal areas, especially genital mucosa. This medicine should be used with caution on any skin with wounds or burns, mucosal tissue, and fetal or immature skin, because the amount absorbed through the skin is small but the possibility of systemic side effects cannot be completely excluded. When using this medicine, local allergic reactions or contact dermatitis may occur, and the risk of such reactions increases if used on injured skin or mucosa. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock may occur. It is advisable not to use this medicine in conjunction with other disinfectants or soaps, as they can interfere with each other's effectiveness. If swallowed in large quantities, immediate medical attention is necessary, as caution is required due to the presence of alcohol. When using, it should only be applied to the skin and must not be ingested or injected. It should not be mixed with detergents or other chemicals, and it should be used in a place away from flames as it is flammable. This medicine does not mix well chemically with anionic substances, so care should be taken. Before using electrical equipment, ensure that the skin is completely dry to reduce the risk of burns. If it comes into contact with the eyes, it can cause severe corneal damage or permanent visual impairment, so care must be taken to avoid eye contact.
