Improvement of blood pressure control in patients with hypertension not adequately controlled with monotherapy
This medication is used in patients with hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.
The usual dosage for adults is 1 tablet of Losartan Potassium 50 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily. A dosage exceeding Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg per day is not recommended. 1. Start with the combination therapy of Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide, and if blood pressure is not controlled after 3 weeks, the maximum is Losartan Potassium 100 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg.
There is no experience in using this medication in children and adolescents, so the losartan-hydrochlorothiazide combination should not be administered to them.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This medication should not be taken if there is a hypersensitivity to it, specific kidney diseases, liver diseases, electrolyte imbalances, or if pregnant. Patients with hypotension or impaired kidney function, elderly patients, and diabetic patients should use this medication cautiously and have their blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte status regularly monitored during treatment. This medication can affect blood potassium levels, so it should not be taken with potassium supplements or potassium-containing medications, and potential drug interactions may occur, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is recommended. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur during treatment, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as skin reactions, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or lips occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. There is insufficient experience with this medication in children and adolescents, so it should not be administered to them. For storage, keep in a place out of reach of children and securely sealed in its original container.
Urticaria, angioedema (swelling of the lips and eyelids and facial rash), skin peeling, hemolysis, chest pain, facial swelling, syncope, arrhythmia, cerebrovascular accident, hypotension, myocardial infarction, secondary atrioventricular block, thrombocytopenia, angioedema (laryngeal/pharyngeal swelling that may cause airway obstruction, swelling of the face/lips/pharynx/tongue), vasculitis, anaphylaxis, hepatitis, renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), renal failure.
Abdominal pain, swelling, palpitations, back pain, dizziness, cough, sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infection, weakness/fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, headache, bronchitis, pharyngitis, chest pain, facial swelling, fever, orthostatic hypotension, syncope, angina, arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, sinus bradycardia, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation), cerebrovascular accident, hypotension, myocardial infarction, secondary atrioventricular block, anorexia, constipation, toothache, dry mouth, dyspepsia, flatulence, gastric mucosal inflammation, vomiting.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container that blocks light and kept at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a long time.
