Relief and treatment of inflammatory pain
This medication is used to relieve mild to moderate pain caused by inflammation in adults aged 19 years and older. Additionally, for children aged 13 to 18 years, it is used to treat moderate acute pain due to inflammation when other analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen have been ineffective. In other words, this medication effectively alleviates pain associated with inflammation across various age groups.
For adults aged 19 years and older: orally administer 1 to 2 capsules every 4 hours. The maximum daily dose is 12 capsules.
For children aged 13 to 18 years: orally administer 1 to 2 capsules every 4 hours. The maximum daily dose is 12 capsules. The treatment period should be limited to 3 days, and if effective pain relief is not achieved, consult a specialist.
This medication exerts its effect when the codeine component is converted to morphine in the liver; however, the metabolism rate varies among individuals, and in some patients, morphine levels can rise sharply, leading to serious side effects. If symptoms such as shallow or slow breathing, confusion, drowsiness, or constricted pupils occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Individuals who frequently consume alcohol must consult a physician or pharmacist before using this medication or other antipyretic analgesics, as failure to do so may increase the risk of liver damage or gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication contains a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which may increase the risk of serious side effects such as heart attack, stroke, gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, etc., so caution is necessary. As it contains acetaminophen, overdose can lead to severe liver damage, and care should be taken not to use it concurrently with other acetaminophen products. Patients with impaired liver function must consult a physician before use. In particular, patients under the age of 18 who are obese or suffering from pulmonary diseases are at higher risk of respiratory depression and should avoid using this medication. Concurrent use with narcotic analgesics, benzodiazepines, alcohol, or other central nervous system depressants can cause severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma; therefore, dosage should be reduced and strict medical supervision is necessary during combined use. This medication should not be taken by those with allergic reactions, asthma, severe respiratory depression, severe liver or kidney disease, pregnant patients in their third trimester, or children under the age of 12. If symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, swelling, or jaundice occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and inform healthcare personnel. Long-term use can lead to drug dependence or tolerance, so continuous use for over four weeks is not recommended, and care must be taken as withdrawal symptoms may occur upon discontinuation. Drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. During pregnancy, this medication may affect the fetus, so it should only be used at the lowest effective dose for a short period when absolutely necessary; during breastfeeding, it is safer to discontinue breastfeeding as the drug can pass to the infant through breast milk. Children, elderly patients, and frail individuals are at higher risk of side effects; consultation with a physician prior to use and careful monitoring of their condition is essential. Overdose may lead to liver damage, respiratory depression, seizures, etc., so it is essential to visit a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
