This medication is used to treat essential hypertension that falls within the mild to moderate range.

How to take

Adult dose

As Lercanidipine Hydrochloride, take 5 to 10 mg once daily orally at least 15 minutes before a meal. The dose may be increased to 20 mg according to the patient's symptoms. Dose adjustment takes up to 2 weeks to observe the maximum antihypertensive effect, thus it should be made gradually.

Precautions

This drug should not be administered to certain patients. For example, those who are allergic to this drug or similar drugs, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and individuals who are breastfeeding should not take this drug. Additionally, patients with heart problems, very poor liver or kidney function, those who have recently suffered a myocardial infarction, patients undergoing dialysis, and children or adolescents under 18 years of age are also not recommended to use this drug. This drug contains lactose, so those with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take it. Caution is required for specific patient groups when using this drug. For example, individuals with problems with cardiac pacemakers or weak heart function, those with mild to moderate liver or kidney disorders, or those with a history of angina should use this drug cautiously.
