This medicine is used as an adjunct to diet for lowering total cholesterol and bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol) and apolipoprotein B levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia. It is also useful for patients with mixed dyslipidemia and can enhance the effect when used in combination with fenofibrate. For patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or homozygous sitosterolemia, this medicine can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments. It should be used in conjunction with an appropriate diet, and it is important to exclude and treat other secondary causes. Additionally, lipid levels should be monitored before and after treatment to assess the patient's condition.
