Who takes it
Adults · Children
Adult dose
As terbinafine: administer 125 mg once, twice a day, or 250 mg once a day. The administration period varies depending on the disease as follows: 1) Dermatophyte infections Athlete's foot (interdigital type, plantar type/moccasin type): 2–6 weeks Body ringworm: 2–4 weeks Jock itch: 2–4 weeks 2) Onychomycosis Usually treated for 6 weeks to 3 months. If infected nails or relatively small toes are involved, or if the patient is younger, the treatment period may be shortened to under 3 months. For toenail infections, a treatment period of about 3 months is generally sufficient, but in some patients, it may take 6 months or more. If the patient has a slow nail growth rate, the treatment period may be extended. 2. Children: Administer to children aged 2 years and older. There is no experience with those under 2 years, and it is not recommended for them. Tinea Capitis: 4 weeks Tinea capitis primarily occurs in children. To prevent recurrence of the infection, treatment must be followed properly for a regularly established duration. 1) Children under 20 kg (under 5 years old): Administer 62.5 mg once daily. Due to insufficient dosing experience, consider the benefits and risks of treatment before deciding on administration. 2) Children weighing 20–40 kg (ages 5–12): Administer 125 mg once daily. 3) Children exceeding 40 kg (over 12 years old): Administer 250 mg once daily. 3.
