Precautions

This medication should not be used in individuals allergic to its active ingredients. It should be avoided by individuals with thyroid dysfunction, particularly those with conditions such as nodular goiter or Hashimoto's thyroiditis. It is also not advisable for patients with poor kidney function and neonates or infants under six months old. Patients with herpes dermatitis or those receiving radioactive iodine treatment before and after should also avoid this medication. Care should be taken when administering this medication to severely ill patients or those with a history of thyroid disease and kidney dysfunction. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur; if symptoms such as respiratory distress or hives appear, discontinue use immediately. Skin pain, itching, and rashes may occur, and prolonged use may delay wound healing, so stop usage if symptoms worsen. Using large amounts can lead to electrolyte imbalances, metabolic disturbances, or kidney dysfunction. Long-term use may affect thyroid hormone levels; therefore, caution is required. Excessive use may result in discomfort in the mouth and throat, skin reactions, digestive issues, or respiratory distress. Serious side effects from iodine toxicity may occur with overdose, so exercise caution. If used just before delivery, it is important to clean the newborn's eyes and skin thoroughly. If symptoms do not improve, consider surgical intervention, and ensure sufficient hydration and kidney function monitoring for patients with extensive burns. This medication may affect thyroid function tests, thus a period should be allowed between testing and administration. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid long-term or extensive use, and thyroid function tests in newborns are recommended. Take care to avoid contact with the eyes; if it occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. Do not mix with other medications, and clean and disinfect the affected area before application. If it comes into contact with clothing, wash immediately; soap may weaken antiseptic action, so rinse thoroughly. Store away from direct sunlight, and be cautious of corrosion if stored in metal containers. Sudden severe allergic reactions may occur during use; if any symptoms arise, seek medical attention immediately.
