Iron deficiency anemia is a condition where there is a lack of iron in the body leading to a shortage of red blood cells in the blood. This medication aids in replenishing iron to support the production of red blood cells in the blood and alleviates symptoms of anemia. It helps with symptoms such as easy fatigue and pale skin. It is used for iron deficiency anemia.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 vial twice daily. Press the protruding part of the upper cap firmly and shake well to mix the powder and liquid thoroughly, then turn the upper cap to the left to open and take.

Precautions

This medication contains iron, and accidental overdose by children under 6 years of age can cause poisoning and serious risks; it should be stored in a safe place out of children's reach. People who are allergic to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months, individuals with certain iron metabolism disorders or anemia disorders, and patients with chronic pancreatitis should not take it. During the use of this medication, it is recommended to avoid taking it with medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid consuming beverages containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, and milk or dairy products before or after taking this medication. If you are receiving medical treatment or have peptic ulcers, chronic colitis, heart or kidney function problems, or are taking certain medications, you must consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If symptoms like hives, skin itching, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever occur while taking the medication, immediately stop taking it and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Adhere to the prescribed dosage and if symptoms do not improve after about a month or worsen, seek advice from a professional. Taking this medication may cause stools to turn black, but this is not harmful. Taking vitamin C in doses over 200mg may increase iron absorption. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place with the cap tightly closed. Furthermore, it is important not to transfer the medication to another container to maintain its quality and prevent misuse.

Itching, skin hypersensitivity reactions, abdominal (belly area) and stomach pain, stomach cramps, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, gastrointestinal symptoms due to excessive intake, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure (impairment), swelling, darkening of stool color.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Interactions

Drug interactions

This medication should not be taken with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. Additionally, caution is needed when taking formulations such as anti-aldosterone agents, triamterene, quinolone antibiotics, penicillamine, chloramphenicol, cholestyramine, pancreatic extracts, and vitamin E, and consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking over 200mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).

Food interactions

This medication should be avoided taken with or around the consumption of tannin-containing beverages like green tea and black tea, and milk and dairy products.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is advisable to maintain storage temperatures between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius.
