Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this drug or similar types of medications, children under 12 years of age, and those with a hereditary condition that affects lactose digestion should not take this medication. Patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, as well as those with specific conditions such as orthostatic hypotension, heart-related diseases, or diabetes should use this medication with caution. This medication contains certain pigments, so individuals allergic to these may also need to be cautious. Taking this medication may cause dizziness or fainting, especially when first taking the medication or suddenly increasing the dose. If fainting occurs, the patient should be laid down and appropriate treatment should be provided if necessary. Additionally, various side effects may occur, such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, palpitations, indigestion, nosebleeds, and frequent urination. Consult a doctor if these symptoms become severe. While taking this medication, sudden movements may cause dizziness, so it is advised to move slowly. Caution is needed when performing hazardous tasks such as high-altitude work or driving a car. Although it is used to alleviate urination issues due to prostatic hyperplasia, if there is no effect, other treatment methods should be considered, and prostate cancer must be confirmed. If undergoing cataract surgery, taking this medication can influence the eye condition during the procedure, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers before the surgery. This medication can be used in conjunction with several other medications, but caution is advised when taken with antihypertensives, as it may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of taking this medication, and breastfeeding women should preferably avoid its use or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy have not been confirmed in children, thus it is advisable not to use it in this population. In elderly patients, it is safer to start from a lower dose and increase gradually to prevent excessively low blood pressure. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop sharply, requiring immediate hospital treatment, and dialysis is ineffective. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring to another container can alter its quality, so caution is required.
