Treatment of herpes simplex viral infections (genital and oral herpes)
This medication is effective against herpes simplex viral infections and is used for initial and recurrent genital herpes and oral herpes. It helps improve symptoms such as blisters that occur around the lips or genital area. This drug inhibits viral activity, contributing to rapid symptom relief and prevention of recurrence. Patients can effectively treat herpes symptoms with this medication.
This medication is applied to the affected area (site of disease) 5 times a day at approximately 4-hour intervals. Treatment should continue for 5 days, and if not improved after 5 days, it may be used for another 5 days.
This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to any of its components or are hypersensitive. It is especially safe not to be administered to nursing women and children. Patients with weakened immune systems, such as those with AIDS or post-bone marrow transplant, should be particularly cautious when using this medication. If there has been a prior allergic reaction to propylene glycol, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is essential before use. During use, pain or discomfort in the genital area may occur, along with temporary burning or stinging sensations. Skin rash, itching, red spots, eczema, or allergic reactions may occur; if symptoms appear, discontinue use and consult a specialist. Treatment is best initiated as soon as the disease begins, and the specified dosage and administration should be strictly followed. This medication should not be used without symptoms or for preventive purposes. It should not be mixed with other medications or diluted. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication only if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. It is advisable to avoid breastfeeding during the use of this medication. This drug is for external use only and should not be applied to mucous membranes, such as eyes, mouth, or vagina. When applying, it is safe to wear rubber gloves to prevent spreading to other areas or infecting others.
