Treatment of dermatophyte infections (tinea pedis, tinea corporis, etc.), tinea versicolor, and cutaneous candidiasis
This medication is used to treat skin fungal infections such as tinea pedis, tinea corporis, and tinea cruris caused by various dermatophytes including Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. It is also effective in treating tinea versicolor caused by the fungus Malassezia furfur and improves cutaneous candidiasis. In summary, it is a drug used for the treatment of various skin fungal infections.
Apply to the affected area (site of disease) once or twice a day. The therapeutic duration depends on the condition: 1. Tinea Pedis: once daily for 1 week Interdigital tinea pedis: twice daily for 1 week Plantar tinea pedis: twice daily for 2 weeks 2. Tinea Corporis, Tinea Cruris: 1 to 2 weeks 3. Cutaneous Candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks 4. Tinea Versicolor: 2 weeks Clinical symptoms should improve after the treatment period.
This medication should not be used by individuals who have had allergic reactions to this drug or any of its ingredients. It is also advisable for pregnant women or women who may become pregnant and breastfeeding women to avoid use. Additionally, it is best not to use this medication in children. If a rash or allergic symptoms occur while using this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. If there is excessive irritation of the skin or if symptoms worsen, consult a specialist right away. If symptoms such as hives, redness, itching, irritation, dermatitis, skin peeling, crusting at wound sites, pigmentation abnormalities, stabbing pain, or burning sensations occur, immediately stop using the medication and seek advice. Do not use this medication with sealed bandages or packaging methods without a doctor's instruction. If this medication is ineffective, fungal testing should be performed to confirm the presence of other infections and alternative treatments should be adopted. It is advisable to avoid using acidic soap in cases of candidiasis. The drug is minimally absorbed by intact skin, which lowers the potential for systemic side effects, but caution should be taken when applying to wounded areas, large areas, or in infants. If this medication is ingested accidentally, first remove the active ingredient with activated charcoal, and if necessary, seek treatment for symptoms. This medication is solely for external use on the skin and should not be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes. If it gets into the eyes, it should be thoroughly washed out with water to reduce irritation, and caution is advised as it may rarely worsen eye infections. It is safe not to use on nails, scalp, around the mouth, and genital area. Animal studies have reported slight toxicity due to light exposure, so care should be taken to avoid exposure to light. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is important to store it in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
