Improvement of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding) and relief of excessive gastric acid.
This medication is effective for various gastric disorders such as ulcers occurring in the stomach and duodenum, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also used to prevent Mendelson's syndrome during pre-anesthesia and to treat ulcers post-surgery. It helps with gastric and duodenal ulcers resulting from NSAID administration, acute exacerbations of both acute and chronic gastritis, and improves gastric mucosal lesions accompanied by upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It can also be used to relieve symptoms associated with excessive gastric acid, heartburn, and acid regurgitation. Overall, this medication is used to improve and treat symptoms associated with various gastric disorders.
As ranitidine, take 150 mg per dose, twice daily, orally in the morning and at bedtime. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: Administer 150 mg orally twice daily or 300 mg once daily at bedtime. For duodenal ulcer patients, 300 mg may be administered twice daily, in the morning and at bedtime. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease: 150 mg twice daily for 8 weeks.
For children aged 8 to 18 years, a single dose of 150 mg (2 mg/kg) may be administered up to twice daily.
This medication should not be used in patients with a known allergy to its components or a history of acute porphyria. In patients with impaired kidney function, this drug may remain in the body longer, requiring cautious use with reduced dosage or increased dosing intervals. Patients with poor liver function, a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, and those taking NSAIDs should also exercise caution. Particularly, as it may mask the symptoms of gastric cancer, patients with gastric ulcers or those over middle age who have recently experienced new dyspeptic symptoms should verify that they do not have a malignant condition before using this medication. Patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers that are Helicobacter pylori positive should undergo treatment to eradicate the bacteria simultaneously. This medication may rarely cause serious allergic reactions or blood dyscrasias, liver dysfunction, heart problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological effects, and skin rashes, so if any unusual symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. During treatment, regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted to closely monitor the patient’s condition. Elderly patients or those with chronic lung diseases, diabetes, or weakened immune systems have an increased risk of pneumonia and should be cautioned. After taking this medication, if experiencing dizziness or drowsiness, driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. When taken with other medications, as this drug may affect the absorption or excretion of other drugs, consultation with a pharmacist or physician may be necessary to adjust the dosage. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should carefully weigh the risks and benefits of using this medication. The safety of this drug in children has not been fully established, so caution is advised when using it in pediatric patients. In cases of overdose, actions such as vomiting or gastric lavage can be taken, and blood dialysis may be performed if necessary to remove the drug. Keep out of reach of children, and it is better not to transfer to another container.
Shock (anaphylaxis), urticaria, angioedema, rash, vascular swelling, chest pain, bronchospasm, hypotension, severe allergic reactions, agranulocytosis, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, bone marrow suppression, aplastic anemia, hypogranulocytosis, pancytopenia, acquired immune hemolytic anemia, general malaise, weakness, subcutaneous and mucosal bleeding, fever, liver dysfunction (increased AST, ALT, γ-GTP, ALP)
