This medication contains an ingredient called chlorhexidine which is used to eliminate bacteria on the skin and wound areas. However, there are situations where this medication should not be used for certain areas or patients. For example, individuals allergic to chlorhexidine, and those with areas such as the brain, spinal cord, inner ear, vagina, bladder, oral mucosa, and eyes should not use it. Use on these areas may lead to serious side effects. Additionally, patients with histories of allergies to other medications or allergic diseases such as asthma, mothers immediately before childbirth, and those allergic to the propylene glycol component in this medication should use it with caution. During use, serious allergic reactions like shock may rarely occur, so if symptoms like nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or skin redness appear, it is essential to stop using it immediately and consult medical personnel. This medication has not been confirmed safe for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women, so its use is not recommended. It should only be used externally, and care must be taken to avoid accidental ingestion or injection, which can cause severe side effects. Special attention should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes; if exposure occurs, the eyes should be rinsed immediately with plenty of clean water. It is safe not to use it on extensive wound or burn areas, especially for newborns or premature infants, as they have a higher risk of systemic side effects. This medication's effectiveness may diminish if it comes into contact with soap or organic materials, so it is advisable to clean the area before use. Moreover, this medication can corrode certain types of medical instruments, so caution is needed during use. When storing, maintain proper temperature and pH, and use any diluted solutions as quickly as possible, discarding any excess. When using this medication, it is crucial to adhere to the above precautions to ensure safe use.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication may have its bactericidal effect weakened by organic materials such as serum and dung, as well as soaps; therefore, they should be thoroughly washed off before use.
This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent exposure to air or light. Additionally, because exposure to light can diminish the drug's efficacy, it is advisable to store it in a dark place.
