Treatment of secondary infection in corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases (dermatitis, infected wounds, etc.)
This medication is used for the initial treatment of corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases secondarily infected by neomycin-sensitive bacteria. It is primarily effective for dermatitis and infected wounds, helping to suppress infection and relieve inflammation. Therefore, this medication is suitable for the initial treatment of skin infections and inflammation.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area 1 to 2 times daily.
This medication should not be used on areas with bacterial, fungal, viral, or animal skin infections as it may worsen symptoms. People who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should avoid use. For patients with otitis externa who have a perforated eardrum, it is advisable not to use this medication as it may delay healing. Caution should be used when applying to ulcerated areas, severe burns, or frostbite as it may interfere with skin regeneration. It is safe to avoid use in patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea. People who have had hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin should avoid using this medication. This medication should not be applied to the eyes or surrounding areas, and should not be used if there are wounds on the breast area due to potential transmission to babies. Pregnant women, those who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should use this medication with caution and only minimally when necessary. Children and youths should use this medication under the supervision of a guardian due to a higher risk of side effects relative to skin area based on weight. If side effects such as skin infection, irritation, rash, or itching occur during the use of this medication, stop using it immediately and consult a specialist. Prolonged use may lead to steroid side effects such as thinning of the skin or dilation of capillaries, so it may be necessary to gradually reduce the dosage or switch to another medication. Long-term or excessive use should be avoided due to the potential for systemic side effects when using extensive or occlusive dressings. If symptoms such as blurred vision or increased eye pressure occur, immediate ophthalmologic consultation is required. In case of sensitization symptoms such as itching, redness, or swelling, stop using the medication immediately, and long-term use increases the risk of sensitization. This medication must be strictly used according to the prescribed method and dosage, and it is advisable to stop using it as soon as symptoms improve. Care should be taken to prevent this medication from entering the eyes, and if it does, it should be immediately rinsed with clean water. Do not use for purposes other than treatment, such as after makeup or shaving, and occlusive dressings should only be used as directed by a physician. Store this medication out of reach of children in a safe place. Pregnant or nursing women and children should use it very cautiously, consulting a professional when necessary.
