Improvement of gastric ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding
This medication can be administered orally or via injection and helps improve gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomosis ulcers, and various lesions of the gastric mucosa (erosion, bleeding, redness, swelling). It is particularly effective for upper gastrointestinal bleeding and hemorrhagic gastritis caused by peptic ulcer and acute stress ulcer. It is also used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and shows efficacy during acute exacerbations of acute gastritis or chronic gastritis. Additionally, the injectable form is utilized for pre-anesthetic administration. This drug is used to improve the damaged state of the gastrointestinal mucosa and prevent bleeding, thereby enhancing digestive health.
For oral administration, for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, anastomosis ulcers, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, administer 20 mg orally twice daily (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) or 40 mg orally once daily (at bedtime). In cases of upper gastrointestinal bleeding, start treatment with injection and switch to oral administration once it becomes feasible. For the improvement of gastric mucosal lesions (acute gastritis, acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis), adults should take 10 mg orally twice daily (after breakfast, after dinner, or at bedtime) or 20 mg orally once daily (at bedtime). Adjust dosage as appropriate based on age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug or other similar medications. Additionally, since this drug contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with genetic disorders that inhibit lactose digestion. Patients with a history of drug allergies or decreased kidney function should use this medication cautiously, and the dosage may need to be reduced or the interval extended as necessary. Patients with heart disease should be cautious as cardiac-related side effects may occur. Patients with impaired liver function should also use this medication with caution, as symptoms may worsen. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustment due to prolonged retention of the drug in the body resulting from decreased kidney function. During the use of this drug, serious allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, severe skin conditions, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, arrhythmias, kidney problems and other side effects may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be performed during treatment, and alternative treatments may be considered if symptoms do not improve. Patients undergoing hemodialysis should exercise caution when taking this medication alongside certain phosphate binders, as this could affect calcium absorption. This drug may interact with some antifungal or anticancer agents, reducing effectiveness when taken together, so inform the physician accordingly. Pregnant women should use this drug only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, and breastfeeding should be discontinued, as the drug may be passed into breast milk. The safety of this drug in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so use should be decided cautiously. Finally, this drug may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should be used only after confirming that gastric cancer is not present.
