For the past few days, I had been feeling full very quickly, even when I ate only a small amount. I used to be fine after finishing a full meal, but lately, I started feeling a tightness around my upper abdomen halfway through meals and found myself putting my spoon down. I watched it for a few days, but it kept happening, so I went to an internal medicine clinic for an examination. In the exam room, I first explained that I had been eating less and that the uncomfortable, tight feeling lasted a long time after meals. The doctor asked whether the symptoms started immediately after eating and whether they improved as time passed. They also asked about my recent meal times and how often I drank coffee. After that, I lay down on the examination table while the doctor pressed on my abdomen to check where I felt uncomfortable. There was no particular area that hurt severely when pressed, and they also checked my bowel sounds. When I mentioned that my meal times were usually irregular and that I tended to eat quickly, the doctor explained that these habits could also contribute to feeling uncomfortable in my stomach. I had the necessary tests done, and we decided to check the results afterward. I was told to take the prescribed medication at the scheduled times and not to suddenly increase the amount I ate. After returning home, I tried to cut back on coffee and late-night snacks and eat more slowly. After a few days, the feeling of being completely blocked up after meals became less intense than before. I’m keeping an eye on how things progress, remembering that I should return for another visit if the symptoms get worse again or continue.
