What does it do?

Pioglitazone hydrochloride is an oral hypoglycemic agent belonging to the thiazolidinedione class. It is mainly used to lower blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It helps control blood sugar by improving insulin resistance.

This ingredient increases sensitivity to insulin in the body, allowing glucose to be effectively absorbed into cells. This lowers blood glucose concentration in the bloodstream and alleviates the symptoms of diabetes.

Good to know

Unlike other hypoglycemic agents, pioglitazone hydrochloride directly improves insulin resistance. Consequently, it does not stimulate insulin secretion, resulting in a relatively low risk of hypoglycemia.
