What does it do?

Valaciclovir hydrochloride is an effective antiviral agent against the herpes virus, which is converted to acyclovir in the body. It is mainly used for the treatment of herpes virus infections such as herpes simplex and shingles.

After being converted to acyclovir in the body, it interferes with the viral DNA synthesis, preventing the virus from reproducing. As a result, the viral load in the infected area decreases and symptoms are alleviated.
