What does it do?

Vigabatrin is a component of the antiepileptic class that inhibits the breakdown of the neurotransmitter GABA in the brain. It is primarily used to manage seizures and plays a role in suppressing excessive neuronal activity in the brain.

Vigabatrin increases the concentration of GABA in the brain by inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down GABA. GABA is a neurotransmitter that suppresses neuronal excitation, and increasing it reduces excessive neuronal activity, thus preventing seizures.
