What does it do?

Omeprazole delayed-release granules belong to the proton pump inhibitor class of medications. They are used to protect the gastric mucosa and assist in ulcer healing by reducing the excessive acid secreted in the stomach.

This component reduces gastric acid production by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach wall cells. As a result, the reduction of gastric acid prevents damage to the gastric mucosa and promotes ulcer healing.

Good to know

Omeprazole delayed-release granules are coated for enteric protection to prevent degradation by gastric acid, allowing absorption in the small intestine after passing through the stomach. This is an important characteristic for reliably exerting gastric acid inhibition effects.
