What does it do?

Teclistamab is a bispecific antibody used for the treatment of multiple myeloma, capable of recognizing both T cells of the immune system and cancer cells simultaneously to exhibit anticancer effects. This ingredient belongs to the class of immunomodulators and helps activate the patient's immune response to attack cancer cells.

Teclistamab binds simultaneously to the CD3 protein on T cells and the BCMA protein on multiple myeloma cells. This induces T cells to recognize and attack cancer cells, promoting an immune response that removes cancer cells.

Good to know

As a bispecific antibody, Teclistamab is characterized by its ability to recognize two different proteins at the same time, unlike monoclonal antibodies that target a single protein. This allows for a more effective connection of immune cells to cancer cells, enhancing therapeutic efficacy.
