What does it do?

Trifluridine belongs to the nucleoside analog class of antineoplastic agents. It is primarily used for the treatment of malignant tumors, disrupting the synthesis of DNA in cancer cells, which inhibits cell proliferation.

Trifluridine inserts itself into the DNA within cancer cells, disrupting normal DNA replication. As a result, cancer cells cannot divide and ultimately undergo apoptosis.

Approved uses differ by product. Check each product's information for its actual use.

Good to know

Unlike other nucleoside analogs, trifluridine acts by directly inserting into DNA. It can be used alone or in combination with other drugs for the treatment of various cancers.
