What does it do?

Tenofovir disoproxil is an antiviral ingredient of the nucleotide analog class. It is used in medications to suppress viral replication in patients with chronic hepatitis B and HIV infection. It is converted into its active form in the body, disrupting viral replication.

After being converted into an active metabolite in the body, it blocks the enzymes necessary for the virus to replicate its own genetic material. As a result, the virus is unable to replicate, and the infection is suppressed. Therefore, it is effective in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and HIV infection.
