What does it do?

Bedaquiline fumarate is an antituberculosis agent that selectively inhibits ATP synthase, which is essential for energy production in tuberculosis bacteria. It is mainly used for the treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and effectively suppresses bacteria resistant to existing drugs.

Bedaquiline fumarate blocks the function of ATP synthase within the tuberculosis bacteria, preventing the cells from producing energy. As a result, the tuberculosis bacteria struggle to survive and proliferate, leading to therapeutic efficacy.
