What does it do?

Phenylephrine hydrochloride acts as a sympathomimetic agent, constricting the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa to alleviate symptoms of nasal congestion. It is mainly used to reduce mucosal swelling in conditions such as colds or allergic rhinitis.

Phenylephrine hydrochloride reduces blood flow by constricting the vessels in the nasal cavity, thus decreasing mucosal swelling. This alleviates nasal congestion and eases breathing.
