What does it do?

Doxycycline hydrate is an antibiotic component of the tetracycline class. It is primarily used to treat infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as rickettsial infections, and is effective against various bacterial infections.

This component disrupts protein synthesis in bacteria, preventing bacterial proliferation. As a result, the bacteria causing the infection are killed or their growth is suppressed, leading to a therapeutic effect.
