What does it do?

Inactivated Influenza virus antigen B is a surface antigen of the Influenza B virus, used in vaccines to help prevent Influenza infection. This ingredient inactivates the virus to safely allow the immune system to recognize it.

When this antigen is injected into the body, immune cells recognize it and produce antibodies. The antibodies generated in this way neutralize the actual Influenza B virus when it invades, preventing infection.

Approved uses differ by product. Check each product's information for its actual use.

Good to know

This ingredient is inactivated antigen rather than live virus, inducing an immune response without the risk of infection. Unlike Influenza A antigens, it is specific to B type viruses, providing immunity against a specific virus.
