What does it do?

Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium is a composite ingredient made up of the beta-lactam antibiotic amoxicillin and the beta-lactamase inhibitor clavulanate potassium. This combination is used to treat various bacterial infections and is effective against beta-lactamase producing bacteria.

Amoxicillin kills bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of their cell walls. Clavulanate potassium enhances the effect of amoxicillin by inhibiting the enzyme beta-lactamase, which bacteria use to break down amoxicillin.
