What does it do?

Mometasone furoate is a synthetic corticosteroid component primarily used to suppress inflammation in the nasal cavity. It is administered in the form of a nasal spray to treat nasal mucosal inflammation, such as allergic rhinitis.

This component inhibits the production of substances that cause inflammation, thereby reducing swelling and irritation of the nasal mucosa. As a result, allergic symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and runny nose are alleviated.

Good to know

Mometasone furoate has a stronger local action compared to other corticosteroids and has lower systemic absorption, resulting in a reduced risk of side effects. Additionally, in its unmixed form, the powdered particles are small and adhere well to the nasal mucosa, leading to a rapid onset of effects.
