What kind of medicines are these?

Hemostatic agents are used to stop bleeding in case of wounds or hemorrhages. They are employed in various bleeding situations such as postoperative bleeding control, nosebleeds, and gum bleeding.

Hemostatic agents act by promoting the blood coagulation process or constricting blood vessels to reduce bleeding. Some hemostatic agents help blood clot quickly by enhancing platelet function.

Good to know

Hemostatic agents are medications aimed at stopping bleeding but work in opposition to anticoagulants and thrombolytics. Therefore, they are differentiated from medications used for bleeding prevention or thrombosis treatment.
