What kind of medicines are these?

These medicines are used to control blood pressure in patients with hypertension. They help prevent cardiovascular diseases that may occur due to high blood pressure. They are mainly used to dilate blood vessels or reduce the burden on the heart.

Antihypertensives lower blood pressure by either dilating blood vessels or regulating the contraction force of the heart. Some promote the excretion of sodium and water from the kidneys, reducing blood volume. This lowers blood pressure and reduces the burden on the heart and blood vessels.

Good to know

Antihypertensives are classified into several types based on their mechanism of action. For example, calcium channel blockers, beta-blockers, and diuretics are included. Even among the same antihypertensive drugs, differences in action mechanisms and side effects lead to distinctions.
