Precautions

This medication is used in a cream form applied to the skin. First, this medication should not be used on mucous membranes such as the eyes or inside the mouth, as these areas are more sensitive and may cause severe irritation. Those with allergies to the ingredients of this medication should not use it, nor should it be applied in cases of acute eczema or severe inflammatory skin conditions. Additionally, patients with poor kidney function should avoid applying it to large areas of the body. Care should be taken when using it on inflamed or cracked skin, as it may cause temporary stinging or irritation. Individuals with sensitive skin or those prone to irritation should also exercise caution when using this product. If there is a history of allergy to propylene glycol, it should be used cautiously as well. Moreover, this medication contains sodium pyruvate, which may cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks. Patients with asthma should be especially careful. During use, symptoms such as pain, warmth, redness, and itching may occur; if these symptoms worsen, use should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms like eczema, cracks, stinging, burning, scaling, or swelling may develop, and it is crucial to stop using it if symptoms intensify. This medication can increase the absorption of other topical medications such as corticosteroids, dithranol, and 5-fluorouracil, so it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional when using them together. This medication should be used strictly for external use only and should not be applied directly to wounds or ulcers.
