This medicine is effective for joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, and it also helps relieve pain caused by ankylosing spondylitis and tendinitis. Additionally, it alleviates discomfort from acute gout and dysmenorrhea. It is also used for various types of pain relief, including bursitis, skeletal muscle disorders (sprains, strains, trauma, lumbago), postoperative pain, migraines, and pain after tooth extraction. Overall, it is a medication that helps improve inflammation and pain.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis Naproxen is administered orally at a dose of 250–500 mg, twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Precautions

Patients who regularly drink more than three glasses of alcohol daily should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. This medicine can cause gastrointestinal bleeding, so caution is needed for those with gastrointestinal issues or who are at high risk of bleeding. Patients with cardiovascular disease or risk factors should closely monitor cardiovascular symptoms while taking this medicine. Elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases are at higher risk of serious gastrointestinal side effects like gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, so they should be especially careful. Patients with peptic ulcers, severe blood abnormalities, liver or kidney dysfunction, severe hypertension, or heart failure should not take this medicine. Those with hypersensitivity or allergies to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or with a history of asthma, rhinitis, or nasal polyps, should avoid this medication. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are required during long-term use of this medicine, and patients should consult a doctor immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. There may be interactions with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or some medications, so be sure to inform your doctor of any other medications you are taking. It is advisable not to use this medicine during pregnancy, especially in the late trimester, and women who may become pregnant should use it with caution.
