Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine or Valsartan used alone. It effectively lowers blood pressure, helping to reduce the risk of complications arising from hypertension.
The recommended dose is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning) if possible.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to any ingredients in this medication, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction should not take this medication. Patients who are sodium or fluid depleted should check their condition before taking this medication and supplement if necessary, and take immediate appropriate measures if symptoms of hypotension occur. Patients with high potassium levels should be cautious when taking this medication along with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics and should frequently check their blood potassium levels. Patients with vascular issues in the kidneys or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation should use this medication with caution, as it may affect kidney function. If symptoms of angioedema occur, the medication must be discontinued immediately and should not be re-administered. Patients with heart failure or after a myocardial infarction should take this medication while periodically monitoring kidney function. Patients with acute myocardial infarction or aortic stenosis should also be cautious when taking this medication. The use of this medication in combination with other Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System agents increases the risk of hypotension, worsening kidney function, and hyperkalemia, so combinations should be avoided or used under strict medical supervision. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. During treatment with this medication, it is important to regularly check for abnormal blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac function deterioration may occur, requiring immediate hospital treatment. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 18 years of age have not been adequately established, so its use is not recommended. Elderly patients can take the usual adult dose, but it is important to monitor their physical condition closely.
