This medicine is used to alleviate various representative symptoms of a cold, including runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Ages 15 and older: Take 2 capsules three times a day, 30 minutes after meals

Precautions

This medication may burden the liver, so individuals who consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily on a regular basis should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Additionally, while taking this medication, there is a risk of rare but serious skin allergic reactions, and if any abnormal symptoms such as rash or itching occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. This medication contains acetaminophen and care should be taken not to exceed a maximum of 4,000mg per day, and it should not be taken in combination with other acetaminophen-containing drugs. Individuals who have allergies to this medication or its components, those who have previously triggered asthma, infants under 3 months of age, and those currently taking specific antidepressants or psychiatric medications should not take this medication. During treatment, caution should be taken not to take this medication concurrently with other cough medicines, cold medicines, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Particularly, children, people with allergic tendencies, liver or kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, gastrointestinal issues, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as rash, vomiting, dizziness, or urinary problems occur after taking the medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist, and immediate treatment is necessary if severe allergic reactions or liver dysfunction symptoms occur. This medication should not be used in children under 2 years of age, except in special cases, and the prescribed dosage and method must be strictly followed. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication, and be aware that drowsiness may occur, so avoid driving or operating machinery. Lastly, be cautious of taking this medication concurrently with specific antibiotics like flucloxacillin, as there is a rare risk of severe metabolic abnormalities occurring; discontinue use if abnormal symptoms are suspected. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry, and tightly sealed container. It is safer not to transfer it to another container.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling, feeling chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
  • Severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the oral/eye mucosa → severe skin adverse reaction
  • Asthma, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough + fever
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver abnormalities (jaundice)
  • Sudden and very severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, loss of consciousness

Mild side effects

Rash/redness (erythema), itching, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, difficulty urinating, persistent or severe thirst, dizziness, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)
