Precautions

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, as it may pose serious risks to the fetus. Patients with impaired liver function or progressive liver disease should exercise caution as serious side effects like hepatic coma may occur. In patients with severe kidney disease, renal function may worsen with this medication, so caution should be exercised in its administration. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, certain heart diseases, bile duct obstruction, pregnant women, or nursing mothers should not take this medication. Especially, diabetic patients or those with moderate to severe renal impairment should avoid taking this medication with contraindicated drugs. Caution is required when using this medication in the presence of primary aldosteronism, heart valve disease, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal diseases, renal vascular hypertension, hypotension, patients undergoing dialysis, the elderly, etc. As this medication lowers blood pressure, symptoms of hypotension may occur, such as dizziness or orthostatic hypotension, so caution is advised while driving or operating machinery. This medication may affect potassium levels, hence patients at risk of hyperkalemia or hypokalemia should undergo regular blood testing. During use, interactions with other drugs may occur; consultation with a specialist is necessary, especially when taken with lithium, digoxin, warfarin, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. In case of overdose, risks of hypotension, arrhythmia, and coma arise, requiring immediate medical attention.
