How to take

Adult dose

As doxylamine succinate, take 25 mg orally once a day, 30 minutes before sleep. Adjust as appropriate based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with respiratory diseases such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, or asthma. Patients with glaucoma should also avoid using this medication. Those with prostatic hyperplasia should refrain from taking this drug. Women who are breastfeeding should not take this medication. It is safest for children under the age of 15 not to take this medication. This medication contains lactose, so those with hereditary issues such as lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. While taking this medication, there may be increased side effects such as urine retention or constipation if combined with medications such as imipramine-class antidepressants, anti-Parkinson's drugs, or disopyramide, so these should not be combined.
