Adult dosage
This drug should be administered using a suitable nebulizer. The dose delivered to the patient is approximately 40~60% of the labeled dose, depending on the nebulizer used. The nebulization time and dose depend on the flow rate, nebulizer chamber, and fill volume. A suitable fill volume for most nebulizers is 2~4 milliliters. 1. Bronchial asthma 1) The dosage regimen when starting inhalation therapy, treating a period of severe asthma, or reducing or discontinuing oral corticosteroids is as follows. (1) Adults; administer 1~2 milligrams (2 vials~4 vials) per dose, 2 times daily 2) The maintenance dose varies by individual and should be the lowest dose possible. The recommended maintenance doses are as follows. 1) Adults; administer 0.5~1 milligram (1 vial~2 vials) per dose, 2 times daily For patients seeking to improve the therapeutic effect, increasing the dose of this drug is generally preferable to combination therapy with oral corticosteroids, as it carries a lower risk of systemic adverse effects. View approved original text

Used for bronchial asthma, particularly in cases where corticosteroid therapy alone is insufficient or inappropriate. It is also effective in treating acute laryngotracheobronchitis, commonly known as croup, in infants and children. This medication alleviates the symptoms of respiratory diseases and facilitates breathing by primarily reducing airway inflammation, thereby improving dyspnea. Therefore, it is actively utilized in the treatment of patients with respiratory problems.

1. Precautions

This medication contains budesonide, which is an inhaled corticosteroid primarily used to reduce inflammation in respiratory diseases such as asthma. Firstly, patients who are allergic to this medication or have hypersensitivity to other components contained in it should not use it. Patients with pulmonary tuberculosis or fungal and viral infections should be particularly cautious when using this medication, and must follow the doctor's instructions closely as infection symptoms may worsen. When switching from oral corticosteroids to this medication, initial use of both medications is recommended, gradually reducing the oral corticosteroid dose as adrenal function slowly recovers. While using this medication, side effects such as sore throat, oral inflammation, dry mouth, cough, hoarseness, and throat inflammation may commonly occur. It is important to rinse the mouth thoroughly with water after inhalation, as there is a risk of oral candidiasis. Rarely, side effects such as laryngitis, headache, taste disturbances, skin rash, and bronchospasms may appear, and if such symptoms occur, it is advisable to consult a doctor. Moreover, inhaling a β2-agonist prior to using this medication can help prevent bronchospasms. Skin irritation may occur when using the nebulizer on the face, so clean the face after use. Blurred vision has also been reported infrequently, and if any vision problems are noted, it is advisable to receive an ophthalmologic examination. This medication is not intended for the immediate relief of acute asthma attacks and should not be used alone in severe cases but rather in conjunction with other treatments. Patients switching from oral steroids to this medication need careful monitoring as the recovery of adrenal function may take time. If an infection is suspected or if bacterial infections exacerbate asthma symptoms, using antibiotics may be beneficial. Do not abruptly discontinue this medication; consult a doctor or pharmacist to adjust the dosage gradually. In cases of infection with varicella or measles, severe complications may arise, so prevention and early treatment of infections are very important. During pregnancy, no significant risk to the fetus is expected, but always discuss the necessity and risks with a doctor. For breastfeeding mothers, minimal amounts of this medication may pass into breast milk, but it is generally considered safe to use when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks. In children, growth rates may be slower when using this medication, so the minimum effective dose should be used and growth status should be regularly monitored. Overdose may not often present specific symptoms, but prolonged misuse can lead to side effects such as adrenal suppression, so caution is advised. Lastly, this medication is for inhalation use only and should not be swallowed or injected, and should be discarded if there are precipitates or it cannot be re-suspended during storage.
