View approved original text

This medication is used for the treatment of male pattern baldness, specifically androgenetic alopecia. Male pattern baldness primarily occurs due to genetic factors and the influence of male hormones, and this medication helps slow the progression of hair loss and promotes hair growth. With consistent use, hair gradually becomes thicker and improves to healthy hair. Additionally, it is expected to improve the scalp environment, alleviating symptoms of hair loss. Thus, this medication is actively used for the treatment of male pattern baldness.

It is advisable for individuals who are using other scalp medications or who have shaved their scalp to refrain from using this medication. During the use of this medication, it should not be combined with topical corticosteroids, retinoids, or petroleum jelly, and caution should be exercised if taking vasodilators due to potential risks of lowering blood pressure. Elderly individuals over 55 years old and those with edema or thyroid function issues must consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. This medication can affect the heart or blood pressure if excessively absorbed, so the prescribed dosage and method must be strictly adhered to. If there are wounds or severe inflammation on the scalp, increased absorption of the medication may heighten the risk of side effects, making it crucial to check health status before use. If a dose is missed, continue with the regular usage at the next dose; however, consult a doctor if there’s an overdose due to the potential for serious side effects. This medication should not be used on areas other than the scalp, and covering with tight dressings should be avoided. Care should be taken to avoid contact with eyes or broken skin, and hands should be thoroughly washed after use.
