Gradual whitening effect on excessive pigmentation (lentigines, melasma, etc.)
This medication is used to gradually improve symptoms of excessive melanin pigmentation that darkens the skin, such as lentigines, melasma, freckles, and senile lentigines. It also helps to gradually whiten excessive pigmentation on unwanted areas, evening out skin tone. In other words, it is effective in alleviating excessive pigmentation of the skin and improving the patient's skin condition.
Hydroquinone 2% or 4%, applied once or twice daily (morning, before bedtime) to the affected area.
This medication may cause discoloration of the skin when exposed to sunlight, so it is essential to apply sunscreen or wear protective clothing while using it. It is advisable not to use this medication for an extended period, and the duration of use should be adjusted based on the treatment effect. Animal studies have indicated that the ingredients in this medication may be carcinogenic, so caution is needed. Individuals with allergies to this medication or its components, or those with a history of hypersensitivity, should not use it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, children under 12 years of age, and individuals with kidney impairment should also avoid using this medication. This medication contains ingredients that may cause allergic reactions, so those with asthma or allergic constitutions should be particularly careful. If any reactions such as itching, blisters, or severe inflammation occur on the skin during use, immediately discontinue use and consult a doctor or pharmacist. When using for the first time, apply a small amount to the skin and observe for reactions for 24 hours. Mild redness is acceptable, but if itching or severe inflammation occurs, it should not be used. If symptoms do not improve after using the medication for about 2 months, it is advisable to discontinue use. This medication should be used solely for skin depigmentation purposes and is not suitable for sun protection or sunburn prevention. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid using this medication or use it cautiously after consulting a physician. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been confirmed in children under 12 years of age, so it is not to be used in this population. Excessive use may cause redness or a sensation of heat on the skin, so application should not be excessive and should be limited to 10% of the total skin area. This medication is for external use only and should be kept away from the eyes or mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers. Long-term use (over approximately 8 years) may lead to adverse reactions in the skin, so it is safer to avoid prolonged use.
