Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to this drug or any of its components or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. Patients currently taking certain antivirals, such as atazanavir, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine, should not use this medication concurrently. Patients with renal or liver issues, as well as the elderly, should exercise caution when using this drug. Common symptoms from taking this medication may include abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, and rare cases of allergic reactions or liver function abnormalities may occur. If liver function abnormalities are suspected, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. For patients with recurrent gastroesophageal reflux disease, it is recommended to only use this medication, and reduce or discontinue the dosage when symptoms improve. This drug may be used to prevent the recurrence of gastric ulcers in patients taking NSAIDs for a prolonged period, but previous history of gastric ulcer must be verified. Long-term use may lead to the formation of gastric polyps, so regular examinations are necessary. This medication may mask symptoms of gastric cancer, so malignancy must be confirmed before use. Caution is also advised in elderly patients or with prolonged high-dose administration due to increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures. This drug alters gastric acidity, potentially affecting the absorption of certain medications; thus, effects may decrease or side effects may increase with some drug combinations. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and it's preferable to avoid use unless necessary.
