This medication is used to treat gastric ulcers and erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective as maintenance therapy after treating erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease, and helps prevent the recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcers that may occur when taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
